Putting Pets to Permanent Sleep

These are my kittens Kopi and Mickey :)

Mickey died of bad flu and cough. We belief that she got it from her mother, Suki, who had a fever for one week straight. We went to the pet clinic a day before Mickey passed away and the vet told us that she's already weak.

"Do whatever you can to save her, please", I begged.
"There's not much we can do, she's very very weak", the vet replied.
"Can you feed her with the pills, and have a close watch on her for the next couple of days until she's fine again?"
"I would suggest you bring her home, we cant do much but only to provide the pills"

When the vet asked us to bring her back home, we already know in our hearts that we are going to lose Mickey. Referring to the topic, I would like to share with you some of the information i found on Euthanasia.

Euthanasia means the last resort of putting one to death as to end one's unbearable pain. Vets prefer to use the term "put animal to sleep". When an animal is having a serious illness like cancer or tumor and it is not curable, the vets will suggest to end the animal's pain by 'putting it to sleep'.

There are two types of Euthanasia:

Active Euthanasia:
Injecting a liquid to stop the heart of one, or to give overdose medicine in which also cause death

Passive Euthanasia:
To stop giving any more medical help.

As what happened to my kitten, i would say it is under Passive Euthanasia. It happens a lot to humans to. I remembered when my late grandmother was sent home, the doctor told my father to spend quality time with her as any minute could be her last.

Islam benarkan ke benda nie??
As summary for hukum Islam:

Active Euthanasia is haram as we should not put an end to anyone's life.
While, Passive Euthanasia is conditional. It counts the practicality and also the doctor's knowledge towards what's best for the patient. Doctors have a huge responsibility as we can see here, they can be either a hero for saving a life or a murderer for taking one's life.

Mahmud Si Pemotong Rumput

Among all topics, I chose Mr. Mahmud as my 'featured celebrity' for this post.

Allow me to introduce Mr Mahmud, he is our favourite Pemotong Rumput who comes every month to cut the grass since 2009. He is damn good at his job that his name rhymes with what he does best.

Mahmud, Rumput
Rumput, Mahmud
hehe :)

He's from Pakistan, aged 50++
and his looks are similar to a character named COUNT OLAF in Unfortunate Events

Say hello to my readers , Mr. Mahmud. hehe

Mr. Mahmud inspired me in several ways. I'm sharing with you one of the best things that i learnt from him. Not Teknik Pemotongan Rumput, but something more valuable.

When my father first hire him, he was on his old bike, carrying his old machine potong rumput, dirty clothes, and a pair of almost grey black boots. He hardly speaks Malay properly back then (end of 2009). He kept saying his name, n the service he offers, something like this:

Abah: Boleh tolong potong rumput ka?
Mahmud: *pointing to himself* Mahmud, Rumput.

Abah: Celah pokok pun mau kasi potong baik2 ok?
Mahmud: *smiling* Mahmud, rumput.

Abah: Mahu makan?
Mahmud: Mahmud, Rumput. (ok, i made that up. hehe)

Every month he'll come, and my father fell more deeply in love with his work. He is the SIFUof potong rumput! He worked hard, he used to do rounds at my housing area once in every two days just to grab any opportunity of doing lawns.

Abah said, "he's smart and hardworking, one day Allah will pay him big"

One fine day, (middle of 2010), he bought himself a new motorcycle. A few months later, he has a helper who works for him. He divide his work with his helper and gain better profit. He managed to cover a larger number of houses since he has the helper with him.

This Year, HE BOUGHT A CAR and has more helpers with him. The last couple of weeks, Abah called Mr. Mahmud for his monthly routine. He came with his car, along with three men wearing blue uniforms. He didnt carry any machines with him on that day, instead, he stood at the side, in his neat white office shirt, and a pair of nice shoes, observing his STAFFS. Yes, he has Staffs in uniforms!!

Abah: Wah, Mahmud nampak lain lah. Sudah jadi boss. *teasing him*
Mahmud: *smiled* Syukur Alhamdulilah. Rezki.

He has come a very long way since the day we first met him. He knows he is good at what he does, he focused on that n expand. His hard work, skills and patience inspired me. I hope he inspires u too.

Shout out to Mr. Mahmud: Semoga Allah pjg kan umur & murah kan rezki!!

Stressful Stress

Heloopp Tomatoes.

It has been so long since i last wrote. Sorry :(

Before i write any further, here are some recaps of what I've been up to this recent weeks of my absence from Blogging. (not that u care but wth)

1. I'm doing my practical training in Subang Jaya, at a company called Mypartners Sdn Bhd. Basically i do PR and some Event marketing. It is AWESOME. Fabulous colleagues.

2. Lost my laptop to robbers. Almost half of my Photo collection is lost. My mistake of not doing back-ups.

3. I'm on my Final Year Project. All the research and stuffs. FUN.

4. Spend time with my kitten- Kopi (stop jumping on my keyboard, plz)

5. Part time nurse for my dad who recently hospitalized for High Blood Pressure. (Damn you kari kambing!)

Honestly, I have no witty things in mind to share. But i feel like writing before the spiders come in and start to have webs in here.

Anyway, i want to write something personal. (jeng jeng jeng)
No lah, actually I just want to talk about STRESS.

One of my tasks as an intern is to monitor newspaper for current events and business opportunities, therefore, every morning, I get to read English n Malay papers. I can say that most of the things that I found in the newspapers these days are Murder cases, Suicide, Child & animal Abuse, and ofcoz, Malaysian favourite- Divorced celebrities (Pfft).

I guess the only common reason that could caused such things is a monster called STRESS. Demanding career and lifestyle can give huge unbearable impact on one's mind and body which in the end contributes to negative actions- like suicide, or killing an innocent child, or slamming a brown poodle that cant stand on his hind legs (WTF).

There are two kinds of Stress, which are-
Bad stress and Good Stress.

Good Stress: it is a motivating factor. Stress is the initiative
that allows us to accomplish tasks, set goals, and create projects.

Bad Stress: it is actually called distress because it connotes a strain,
or too much demand on the body or mind. This distress can be caused
by, or exasperated in, times of loss, transition, and change.

If I may suggest, if you feel like you are experiencing chronic stress (which means, an extreme pressure or a pressure that you cannot handle), do talk to someone (as a first helpful step). It's important for you to let it out. Or if you don't feel like sharing it with anyone, just write it down somewhere. Expressing your thoughts is a healthy thing to do. As for the Muslims, we can always 'talk' to Him :)

To my fellow young readers, we are the next in line of becoming parents, bosses, politicians and celebrities. (some of us are already a boss, a parent, a politician and superstars). Therefore, do avoid unthoughtful actions that could damage ourselves or the people around us. One of the ways to do that is by controlling our stress. Set a realistic goals in our lives and strive to achieve it, do not put too much pressure on our mind and body as it is the greatest gift that God has ever given.

Btw, here's a new guy on Youtube. He's awesome. Have fun watching his videos. Reduce your bad stress by watching him.
Shout out to Anwar Hadi: Wohoo! keep it up!
